1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy describes how Override ("we," "our," or "us") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the Override mobile application and website at override-app.org (collectively, the "Service").
We understand that Override is used during sensitive personal moments. Your privacy is not an afterthought — it is a core design principle of this app. We collect the minimum data necessary to operate the Service and we do not sell your data.
2. Information We Collect
We collect the following information:
- Account information: If you create an account, we collect your email address and display name as provided via Apple Sign In or Google Sign In.
- Usage data: We collect data about your use of the app including urge logs, streak data, and session activity. This data is used to provide your personal progress tracking.
- Device information: Basic device identifiers and operating system version, used for app functionality and crash reporting.
- Purchase information: If you subscribe to Override Premium, subscription and transaction data is processed by Apple and managed via RevenueCat. We do not store your payment card details.
We do not collect the content of any journal entries, notes, or free-text you enter in the app unless explicitly submitted to us as support correspondence.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use your information solely to:
- Operate and maintain your Override account and progress data
- Provide streak tracking, urge history, and personalized insights
- Process and manage your subscription via RevenueCat and Apple billing
- Respond to support requests sent to [email protected]
- Improve app stability and fix bugs using anonymized diagnostic data
We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or sale to third parties.
4. Data Storage & Security
Your account and usage data is stored securely in Supabase, a cloud database provider with SOC 2 compliance. Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. We follow industry-standard security practices to protect your information.
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion at any time (see Section 6).
5. Third-Party Services
Override uses the following third-party services, each with their own privacy policies:
- Supabase — database and authentication infrastructure (supabase.com/privacy)
- RevenueCat — subscription and in-app purchase management (revenuecat.com/privacy)
- Apple Sign In / Google Sign In — optional authentication methods governed by Apple's and Google's respective privacy policies
- Anthropic — if AI-powered features are used, content may be processed by Anthropic's API in accordance with anthropic.com/privacy
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with any other third parties.
6. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate personal data
- Delete your account and associated data — available directly in the app under Settings, or by emailing [email protected]
- Export your data upon request

7. Children's Privacy
Override is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us at [email protected] and we will delete it promptly.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. If changes are material, we will notify you via the app or by email. Continued use of Override after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
