This guide focuses on practical steps you can prepare while calm and use when the pattern becomes difficult to interrupt.
Stop treating relapse as one mysterious event
Relapse usually follows a repeatable chain: trigger, opportunity, automatic route, behavior, and aftermath. Map the chain instead of only judging the outcome.
Track urges, not just failures
Record time, location, emotion, device, and what happened immediately before the urge. Patterns become visible when successful interruptions are tracked too.
Choose one response per trigger
Create an if-then rule for your highest-risk pattern. Example: “If I am alone in bed after midnight and the urge starts, I put the phone across the room and begin my reset sequence.”
Add friction before motivation disappears
Move devices, shield apps, remove saved access, and prepare the environment while calm. Do not rely on setting up protection during the urge.
Recover from a lapse immediately
A lapse becomes more dangerous when it is interpreted as total failure. Resume the plan in the next moment, identify the broken link, and adjust the system.
Where Override fits
Override is built for the active moment. It temporarily shields selected apps and guides you through an active guided reset. It is not a replacement for therapy or deeper recovery work.
Put the interruption in place before the urge.
Set up your shielded apps, missions, and personal phrase while you are calm.
